Crawfordsville, Ind. - John William Fletcher, 72, of Crawfordsville Route 6, died at 4:45 p.m. yesterday (May 17, 1966) in Culver Hospital where he was admitted a few hours earlier. A retired farmer, Mr. Fletcher had been a tax assessor in Ridgefarm, Ill., before moving to Indiana. A native of Ridgefarm, Mr. Fletcher was born Feb. 9, 1894, the son of James P and Martha E. Ankrum Fletcher. He was married March 2, 1915 to the former Mary Outland at Georgetown, Ill. Survivors include the wife: a son, Zane of South Bend; a daughter, Mrs. Martha Lee ? of Grisham, Wis.; two sisters, Mrs. Allie Baldwin of Danville, Ill., and Mrs. Ann Lee Weathers of ?, Ill.; six grandchildren and one great grandson. He was proceeded in death by two brothers. Mr. Fletcher was a member of the Elmdale Methodist Church. The body is at the Servies Funeral Home here where visitation will be held after 2 p.m. Thursday. Services will be at 2 p.m.Friday at the funeral home. The Rev. Rob James will officiate, with burial in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
